Monaghan has recorded the highest mortality rate connected to the Coronavirus in the Shannonside Northern Sound region according to new figures from the CSO.
The latest information from the CSO reveals that Leitrim has the joint lowest death rate at five or fewer.
This is the tenth week in a row that Leitrim and Longford, have recorded less than 10 new cases and the number of people who have died from COVID-19 is below 10 for the last three weeks.
The CSO figures confirm that Dublin continues to be the worst hit by COVID-19 accounting for 51% of total confirmed deaths
As of this week, Cavan has a total of 867 cases, Monaghan has 540, Leitrim 85, Longford 282 and Roscommon 349 instances of Covid-19.
Cavan and Monaghan account for the largest area of deaths in the region, with fifty recorded in Monaghan, and forty in Cavan.
This contracts with a total of eleven in Roscommon, seven in Longford and five or fewer in Leitrim.
The median age of cases also varies between the five counties, with Cavan's age of 46 in contrast to Longford's median age of cases at 39 and Roscommon at 44, Leitrim at 50 years of age and Monaghan at 53.
