A man in his 50s was injured in the incident and brought to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Gardaí say investigations are at an early stage and no further details are available at this time.

The search was conducted by members of the Athlone Detective Unit, Westmeath Divisional Drug unit and the Westmeath Roads Policing Unit.

A man in his late teens and two teenage boys were arrested.

The woman is currently detained in custody under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

The woman in her 40s was released without charge pending a file to the Director Of Public Prosecutions.

It's alleged that over 1 million euro is involved in the case.
