A man in his 50s, understood to be her husband, was arrested and appeared before Ballinasloe District yesterday.

The incident took place on Monday evening at a residence in the town.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a home in New Ross shortly before midnight last night.

Gardaí are investigating reports the teenage boy was attacked in Main Street at around 12.10am on Friday.

The protest is being organised by a group called Ballaghaderreen Concerned Citizens.

The incident took place on the Dublin road close to a local national school in the town just after 9am.
