Up to 150 people from across the parishes of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise will gather together this weekend to discuss practical ways in which lay people can become more involved with the church.
It's one of three issues chosen out of several suggestions over the past three years arising from a Diocesan Assembly project.
The project began in 2019 when the then Bishop Francis Duffy asked for people of all ages and experiences to come together to highlight the issues they felt were most important for the church in the coming years.
He also asked interested individuals and groups, whether or not they were part of the church to get involved in the process.
Fr James McKiernan says three areas have been chosen from the process to concentrate on and they'll be the focus of the assembly on this Saturday.
