A post mortem examination is due to take place this afternoon on the body of a woman who died following a house fire in Roscommon.
The woman, who lived alone, was found dead at the scene of the fire at a two-bedroom bungalow in Athleague at around 7am this morning.
The alarm was raised just after 6.30am by a neighbour who saw smoke coming from the bungalow with emergency services discovering the woman's body just after 7am.
The scene is sealed off for a technical examination, but it is not thought at this stage the fire is being treated as suspicious.
