Gardaí say that a man aged in his 40s attended Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore as a precaution.

Gardaí responded to an incident at one o'clock this morning on the Roscommon side of the town.

A selection convention will take place in the Athlone Springs Hotel on the evening of February 20th.
