Councillors of the Athlone Municipal District in Roscommon have expressed their frustration with the Office of Public Works for not acceding to their request for a meeting on Lough Funshinagh.
Members had asked for engineers to meet with them to discuss solutions to the ongoing flooding of the turlough.
However in correspondence, the western area office stated that it was not in position to meet with members of the Municipal District.
Councillor Ivan Connaughton, who proposed that they re-write to request they meet with the full council, believes it’s hugely disrespectful to the Municipal District.
