Athlone Gardai issue fraud warning after significant bank card incident

Athlone Gardaí are urging the public to stay vigilant and keep regular track of their bank cards and accounts.

The call follows an incident where a member of the public lost their bank card in Athlone Town.

The card was subsequently used to the amount of €640 in locations across the Athlone before the fraud was discovered.

Local gardaí are currently investigating the incident.

As part of Fraud Awareness Week, Gardaí are encouraging the public to monitor their bank accounts regularly and report any suspicious activity immediately.
