Students from Athlone Community College have connected to space today with a live call to the International Space Station.
Astronaut Shannon Walker linked up with the students through amateur radio to answer a set of questions about life on Space Station and the work they are doing.
The school has spent most of this year preparing for the event, with special projects which included naming a star, designing a space helmet and hosting a space walk.
Student Nika Campbell says it was a once in a lifetime experience.
