Residents in the Attirory and Cortober areas of Carrick-on-Shannon are digesting the news today that they could end up living beside a busy national road.
Letters were sent out to 700 householders in the two townlands today informing them they're on the preferred route for the N4 by pass of the town.
Conor King who's Chairperson of the Glas Na hAbhainn residents association says they are dismayed at the plans and the uncertainty which they bring.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon, the local resident says people naturally have a lot of concerns about how this lengthy process is going to take shape over the years, and how their homes could be affected.
