Close to 400 litres of water were used on average each day in local homes last year according to new figures.
The CSO has released data showing the average use per water meter in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.
According to Irish Water, over half of people in Ireland still admit to wasting water.
Longford saw the highest water use each day among the three counties with 424 litres used per meter each day.
That's followed by 392 litres in Roscommon and 372 in Leitrim.
Around 38% of Irish water is lost through leakages every day according to the utility provider.
