The average price of a house in the Shannonside region now stands at €235,000. New analysis carried out by the Irish Independent shows that house prices in Longford experienced one of the largest increases last year. The latest How Much is Your House Worth Report published in the Irish Independent forecasts continued increases in house prices across Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon. In 2023, the average price of a house in Longford stood at €235,000, a 10% increase on 2022.
A further growth in the market of 4% is also being forecast in the county. Meanwhile prices in Leitrim rose by 5% to an average of €200,000 with another 5% growth expected this year. Remote working is also one of the main reasons for this increase according to local estate agents. While in Roscommon, there was no change year-on-year. with prices staying around the €258,000 mark
According to analysis, the continued small supply of homes in the county means prices remain relatively stable. Nationally, Dublin 6, which includes areas such as Rathmines, Rathgar, and Terenure, had the highest average house price last year at €1.05 million
