Voters are continuing to cast their ballots in the local elections across the region.
Turnout is being described as steady across Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon.
The local and European elections are taking place across the region, with 6 council seats up for grabs in each of the 9 electoral areas.
Voting commenced at 7am and will continue until 10 o'clock tonight. As of 1 o clock, average turnout across all areas of Leitrim was around 12-15%. with the highest turnout currently being at 24% in Drumshanbo, and Cloone at 13%. Average turnout in Roscommon as of now is 11% with Strokestown lying at 9%, Knockcroghery at 8% and Lecarrow at 8%. Meanwhile in Longford, an average of 12% of the electorate have currently cast their vote, with 10% turnout so far in Drumlish and 12% in St Joseph's in Longford Town, with Legan sitting at a high of 18%.
Counting of votes is expected to begin at 9 o clock tomorrow morning.
