The refurbished Ballaghaderreen library is on course to reopen by the end of the year, according to Roscommon County Council.
It has been closed since 2020, but the council says the upgrade of Dillon House is progressing well.
It will be open seven days a week, from 8am to 10pm, on a self-service basis outside of normal staffed hours.
The council says over 2,000 people visited the temporary library, near SuperValu, between April and June.
Independent councillor Micheál Frain, from Ballaghaderreen, says the reopening of the permanent library is welcome.
