The chair of Ballaghaderreen's Town Team believes a plan to update its streetscape is necessary for the town to embrace the 21st century.
Last month Roscommon County Council confirmed that it would be proceeding with an application to seek funding for the major urban renewal development despite some local business opposition.
It was claimed by local Councillor and businessman Michael Mulligan that opponents to the plan could table a judicial review to stall the works.
Willie Murphy is the chair of the Town Team and he is hopeful that the process won't have to go down the legal route.
