A mental health inpatient facility in Ballinasloe is one of three nationwide that achieved 100% compliance in the latest report from the Mental Health Commission.
The Commission is an independent statutory body which was set up to foster and promote high standards of care and good practice in the delivery of mental health services.
It also has a remit to ensure the interests of people who are involuntarily admitted to a facility.
The Creagh Suite on the grounds of the St Brigid's campus in Ballinasloe is registered for 14 beds.
The Mental Health Commission report says while it's an older building, it is clean and airy and has been developed to cater for the specific needs of an older population.
It says the Creagh Suite achieved 100% compliance with regulations, rules and codes of practice, and is an example to others that high compliance and standards can be maintained.
