The Emergency Department at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe is under severe pressure today with a number of people waiting for a hospital bed.
Six people are on trolleys and nine patients are waiting elsewhere in the hospital for a bed today.
Staff and local representatives have previously highlighted capacity issues at the local ED, with high trolley numbers causing significant issues at the hospital.
Elsewhere in the region, Sligo University is also dealing with elevated numbers attending their Emergency Department, where 35 people are waiting as of this morning's trolley count.
In the Midlands, Mullingar Hospital is urging people to attend the local Minor Injury Unit if possible instead of presenting at the ED, where 16 people are waiting for a bed.
Nationally, Limerick University Hospital is facing 112 people in their ED this morning.
