Ballinasloe Horse Fair begins today

The 300th year of Europe's Oldest International Horse Fair and Festival begins today in Ballinasloe.

The well-known fair and festival runs for the next week on the fair green in the Galway town.

Gardai will be diverting traffic and there will be road closures around the town with diversions in place.

There are designated car parks in and around the event.
