A 'Call for Peace' candlelight vigil will be held in Ballinasloe this evening in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
The event is being organised by the Diocese of Clonfert due to its close ties with clergy in Ukraine.
The public are encouraged to take part in the evening of prayer outside St Michael's Church in Ballinasloe at 6pm.

Deacon John Weldon says the diocese are also inviting people to make a donation to humanitarian aid for those who are suffering.
