The Fine Gael constituency for Roscommon-Galway is backing Ballinasloe senator Aisling Dolan in her bid to retain her seat.
They have put her name forward to be considered by the party's national executive.
Each constituency is selecting a nominee - and the national executive will then decide who runs in next month's Seanad elections.
