Ballintubber community activists likely to fill Anthony Waldron council seat

Ballintubber community activists, Gail Murray and Michael Holland Junior, are the favourites to replace Anthony Waldron on Roscommon County Council.
The first council meeting since his sudden death earlier this month takes place this afternoon.

His seat won't be filled today, but a nomination process is under way in his home village of Ballintubber.
Murray or Holland are his most likely replacements - after his big supporter, Ballymoe's John Griffin, ruled himself out.
