A local GP has called for changes in the way rural GP's are recruited.
Dr Martin Daly's comments come as doctors struggle to deal with an increasing number of patients attending. The Ballygar based GP says that doctors in rural areas often are unable to avail of holiday, maternity or sick leave due to the pressures. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show earlier, the former IMO president argues that a rethink is needed to recruit more GPs.
