The PRO of Ballymahon Town Team is welcoming the re-establishment of the Community Forum relating to the upcoming works at Center Parcs.
Longford Council has granted permission this week for a major new expansion to the holiday resort including almost 200 new lodges.
The works will see another period of increased traffic on local roads as the site is prepared and construction of the new building starts.
Niall Dowler says the latest expansion is great news for Ballymahon which already sees a good footfall from guests who are coming to the amenity.
He says the setting up of the Community Forum again will also give local people the chance to raise any questions they might have about the development.
"Residents can come in and have their say and air any concerns that they might have. The other idea as a community forum is to ensure that we have the adequate infrastructure in place that roads aren't impacted by construction traffic, and residents aren't affected by construction noise. The community forum will be reestablished so residents can come in, have a look at the plans, see what's going on, and sort of get a good debrief on the whole construction phase".
