A south Longford Councillor says he is happy that incidents of anti-social behaviour and littering at a Longford playground have significantly decreased.
Parents of children using the Ballymahon playground had expressed concerns over littering, broken glass and debris scattered across the popular amenity in the weeks before Christmas.
Pat O Toole says Local Community employments workers as well as Longford County Council and Gardai have worked together in the last number of weeks to address the issue and there has bene very few incidents reported since the start of the year.
He says people on the ground deserve great credit for addressing the issue so quickly.
