Bank of Ireland is being criticised over its decision to remove ATM services in Longford Shopping Centre. The Bank Confirmed that they have ceased providing ATM services in the Shopping centre in the county town. They have advised customers to use the on street ATM at their branch on Main Street, internal ATMs in branch or the local Post Office.
The move has been met with anger by many shoppers with several highlighting their discomfort of withdrawing money on street ATMs. Longford Shopping Centre Management has apologised for the inconvenience and has confirmed they are exploring alternative options for cash machine services in the centre. Meanwhile, the Shannonside Region is set to miss out in the short term on a plans to upgrade over 660 BOI ATMs nationwide, with no local branches selected for the first phase of replacements.
