A dearly loved local parish priest has passed away.
Reverend Michael Campbell died on Friday, 30th of August at Drumderrig House Nursing Home, Boyle.
The Abbeylara parish priest was formerly a curate in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and Ferbane, Co. Offaly.

Due to his passing, this evening's Peter Hanley Motors Senior Championship fixture between Mostrim and St. Mary's Granard has been moved from Oliver Lynch Park, Abbeylara, to Emmet Park, Clonee.
Abbeylara Handball Club's handball tournament has been postponed this weekend as a mark of respect.
