Mr Ahern was in Roscommon this afternoon, where he delivered the keynote speech at this year's Percy French Festival.

Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has refused to rule out a Presidential bid in the future, saying it depended on a number of factors. Mr Ahern was in Roscommon this afternoon, where he delivered the keynote speech at this year's Percy French Festival. His speech titled 'Towards a vision for a New Ireland in the current landscape' was the main attraction on the second day of the event.

The former Fianna Fáil leader refused to confirm a potential run for the Áras but said the picture would become clearer next year. Speaking to Shannonside News, he did admit however that he would be familiar with was involved in the role of Irish President:
