It's claimed there is "big shock" in west Roscommon after almost €900,000 worth of cannabis was seized in separate seizures.
On Wednesday afternoon, gardai found around €700,000 worth of cannabis herb and plants at a house in Loughglynn.
Three men were arrested on suspicion of drug-trafficking.
In a separate seizure yesterday, Gardai raided a second cannabis growhouse, recovering around €180,000 worth of cannabis herb in Fairymount, around four miles from Loughglynn.
Local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice said: "There is big shock here in west Roscommon to hear about these two drugs finds.
"A very significant amount of drugs were recovered.
"There is quite a lot of amazement and shock here locally that this was going on in west Roscommon.
"Certainly, gardai should be commended for their work on this. It's a very significant find."
Three men in their 30s were arrested in connection with the Loughglynn seizure.
There have been no arrests in connection with the Fairymount find.
The seizures were part of Operation Tara - an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on 2nd July 2021.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
