Outgoing Bishop of Achonry Paul Dempsey will say his final Mass in Ballaghaderreen this weekend ahead of his departure.
It was recently announced he would be leaving the west to become an Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin.
The dioceses of Achonry and Elphin are to merge, with the Bishop of Elphin, Kevin Doran, appointed Apostolic Administrator of Achonry.
Bishop Dempsey will celebrate his final Mass in St Nathy's Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen on Sunday at 10am before he takes on his new role in Dublin on May 26th.
There will be refreshments afterwards in St Nathy's College. All are welcome.
Bishop Dempsey has lived in Ballaghaderreen since his appointment as Bishop of Achonry in January 2020.
Ballaghaderreen man Michael Scally has been paying tribute.
