The new Archbishop of Tuam Francis Duffy will be installed at a special ceremony this weekend.
He made the announcement at his final mass in St Mel's Cathedral over the weekend after spending nine years in the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise.
The Cavan native will officially take up duties in the Archdioceses of Tuam following a ceremony in the town's Cathedral at 2:30pm on Sunday.
Due to Covid-19 attendance at the mass is strictly limited to family and clergy but will be available to watch on the Tuam Parish webcam.
