A local bishop will take part in a fundraising walk for the Irish Chaplaincy in London.
The 18km journey from Mulranny to Newport in Co.Mayo along the Greenway is aimed at raising awareness of the plight of Irish emigrants in London.
Bishop of Achonry, Paul Dempsey, will be in attendance at the event on Saturday and he says it's important to remember those who were forced to leave Ireland both in the past and present.
Bishop Dempsey, who's also the chairman of the Council for Irish Emigrants at the Irish Catholic Bishops' conference, says that everyone's welcome to join the walk in support of the charity.
The meeting point for the event will be in Mulranny at 10:30 this Saturday.
