The Bishop of Elphin is calling for more Garda resources to be allocated to the Shannonside region. Kevin Doran also now leads the Diocese of Achonry, which includes Ballaghaderreen.
There have been a series of burglaries in the area recently and Bishop Doran says he also believes more resources are needed:
