The Bishop of Elphin is urging people to make a personal judgements of conscience based on fact, not option around being vaccinated against Covid-19.
Kevin Doran say there are two key facts for Catholics to consider in light of the growing number of people presenting with Covid in hospitals.
The Sligo native says unvaccinated people make up the majority of those who are seriously ill in hospital with COVID-19 and the high level of hospitalisation from COVID-19 is preventing people with other serious health conditions from getting essential treatment as and when they need it.
He also claims that the Catholic church has already stated very clearly that there is no religious reason why people should not get vaccinated.
I encourage people to take a personal decision of conscience, based on fact rather than opinion, in relation to vaccination. People’s lives depend on the decision you make. @CatholicNewsIRL @CatholicBishops https://t.co/CbW2hQuoYj
