A local Bishop has welcomed moves to re-organise the Catholic Church in the West of Ireland. Bishop of Elphin Kevin Doran was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Achonry Diocese as part of the restructuring this week. He said the changes had been mooted for a number of years and were in the best interests of the church.
