A book of condolence will open in Roscommon County Council's headquarters at 11 o'clock this morning, after the death of Fine Gael councillor John Naughten. The Tricolour and the Roscommon flag will also be lowered to half-mast. John died at his home in Drum in south Roscommon on Friday, while aged in his 50s.
It's being treated as a personal tragedy and his funeral Mass will take place in St Brigid's Church, Drum, on Thursday. Leitrim councillor and former Fine Gael regional organiser, Enda McGloin, says he's stunned by the death of the experienced councillor.
