Plans to build eight new classrooms at a school in Ballinasloe have significantly progressed.
The Minister for Disability and Fianna Fáil TD for Galway East Anne Rabbitte has confirmed that a Project Manager has been appointed to advance the new classes at St Teresa's Special School, Ballinasloe.
Last year the school was allocated a new four-acre site close to its current location for the construction of a purpose-built special school.
St. Teresa's is dedicated to the education of children with moderate, severe and profound special needs and Autism.
It's hoped the new building could be completed within four years.
