Bord na Mona has announced the creation of 885 new jobs for the midlands as the company shifts to climate friendly energy.
The jobs are set to be created between now and 2026 in the areas of rehabilitating peatlands, renewable energy, recycling infrastructure and carbon storage.
The roles will vary from high tech jobs to operator roles, with the majority at locations across the midlands.
The announcement follows the creation of 550 jobs in Bord Na Mona's climate solutions company over the last year.
The body currently estimates that by 2030, it will be able to provide a third of Irish homes with renewable energy.
