Frank Feighan said the government could fund the development of a hotel - if an application was made by Roscommon County Council, a local co-op or town team.

The north Roscommon town has been without a hotel since the Royal Hotel closed over a decade ago.

Some of the faults aren't expected to be fixed until tomorrow evening.

The ESB hopes to have many of the faults fixed on Monday, but some people will have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday for their power to be restored.

The An Post delivery office is one of over 1,400 premises in the north Roscommon town that has been out of electricity. 

Vantage Tower's Limited have applied to Roscommon County Council for the infrastructure at Ardcarne and Sheegorey in Boyle.

The warning follows reports that bogus callers were targeting homes in one town.

The 53rd edition of the event will take place from the 20th to 26th of September next year.
