Over 300 inspections were carried out by the Workplace Relations Commission in the Shannonside region last year.
According to new figures released by the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, the majority of breaches related to organisation of working time.
The Workplace Relations Commission primary functions include the inspection of employment law compliance, the provision of information on employment law, and advisory services.
346 inspections were carried out by the WRC in the Shannonside region last year; 127 in Longford, 120 in Leitrim, and 99 in Roscommon.
The majority of breaches detected related to working hours, with 44 complaints in Roscommon, 41 in Longford, and 35 in Leitrim.
A total of 109 breaches were discovered last year in the region relating to terms of employment.
Longford had the most of these complaints at 42, followed by 37 in Leitrim, and 30 in Roscommon.
Other areas where breaches were detected included payment of wages, with 42 total complaints, protection of young people, with 38 complaints, and payment of minimum wage, with 27 complaints.
Nationally, a total of 7,862 inspections were carried out by the WRC in 2023, with 1 point 9 million euro in unpaid wages returned to employees following investigations.
