Uptake in the BreastCheck screening programme across Longford and Leitrim remains well above the national target.
In the last five months of 2022, the two counties recorded a 91% uptake in screenings, according to figures published by the Irish Independent
However Westmeath had the lowest uptake in the country at just 53%.
A survey carried out by the HSE showed that women in the 50-54 age range, and those attending their first screening, are less likely to attend a screening appointment.
