Leitrim has seen significant changes to its crime levels over the course of the last year.
Senior Gardaí from the Sligo Leitrim Garda Division presented the details at this week's meeting of the county's Joint Policing Committee.
According to new figures from the CSO and Gardaí, burglaries are down 52 per cent across the county, while minor assault has also seen a decrease of over a half on last year.
Meanwhile, arrests of motorists driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs have seen major jumps in the last 9 months compared to the same period in 2020.
Incidents of drink driving have grown by 50 percent, while Gardaí have recorded a 79 per cent increase in drug driving.
Elsewhere in the Sligo Leitrim Garda District, the Protective Services Unit are currently investigating 96 active cases including rape, sexual assault, child pornography offences and child neglect.
The unit is currently undergoing training with the Donegal Sexual Assault Treatment Unit as part of a multi agency guidance project for the handling of sexual violence.
