Five properties were targeted over night in Tulsk, Ballaghaderreen and Loughglynn.

The people behind a spree of break ins in Roscommon last night stopped to have tea and biscuits in one of properties they burgled.

Roscommon Gardaí are investigating the break ins at commercial premises in Tulsk, Loughglynn and Ballaghaderreen between 11pm and 6am, including O'Connor's in Tulsk and Creaton's in Loughglynn.

Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Councillor Micheál Frain described how Brusna National School was one of the properties targeted in last night's raids.

According to the Councillor, those responsible for the break in stayed long enough in the school to make tea and eat biscuits from the staff room.

The Ballaghderreen Councillor has accused Gardaí management of letting down communities in Roscommon and the local Gardaí that serve them.
