Carrick-on-Shannon Gardaí have appealed for information and have asked members of the public to come forward.

Tom Cunningham was speaking at a public meeting about rural crime in his home parish of Glinsk last night.

The station was unoccupied at the time and the suspect was arrested after an alarm was activated.

The break in occurred at a residential property in Edgeworthstown yesterday evening.

A house was broken into in Kilsallagh, Williamstown, Co Galway, last Friday evening. 

Cash was robbed in one house but nothing was taken in the other. 

The home at Drumgildra in Mohill was ransacked and a large amount of jewellery and a PS5 console, accessories and games were taken.

It's after a series of burglaries in the county recently, with shops, farms and small businesses all targeted.
