Burglary victim says criminals 'took over' local village

He described how his CCTV system recorded the suspects walking down the middle of the street with baseball bats.

The criminals behind a series of burglaries in Roscommon late last week took over a local village according to one of the victims. Roscommon Gardaí are investigating the break ins at commercial premises in Tulsk, Loughglynn and Ballaghaderreen between 11pm and 6am. The properties include pubs, restaurants, shops and a school, were its reported the suspects stayed long enough to make tea and eat biscuits in the staff room.

Eugene O'Connor runs O'Connor's Pub and Shop as well as the Friary Restaurant in Tulsk, which was targeted by criminals in the early hours of Friday morning. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Eugene described how his CCTV system recorded the suspects walking down the middle of the street in Tulsk with baseball bats.

Seamus Conway also runs a business locally and was has been the subject of several break ins and attempted break ins. He says that people, especially older people in the area are afraid:
