It's the third burglary in the county in recent days.

The elderly man was badly injured in an incident at his house earlier this year.

Gardaí are also seeking witnesses to a theft from an industrial area in Clonark this week.

They are being held at separate Garda stations in Leitrim and Sligo. 

The issue was raised in the Seanad.
