Bus Éireann presented with sustainability award for Athlone bus fleet

Athlone's electric bus fleet took home prestigious national awards in recent days.

Bus Éireann took home the Sustainable Project: Transport award and the overall Grand Prix Award at the PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Awards for their work on introducing the electric fleet.

The 11 busses were launched in January following a €10 million investment by the NTA.

According to Bus Éireann, they have now completed 140,000 emission free kilometres
