Several footpaths in these towns have been widened and, as a result, the roads have been narrowed.

Concerns have been raised a pedestrian will be knocked down by a truck due to new road layouts in Co Roscommon.

Independent councillor Valerie Byrne has received several complaints from residents in Boyle, Strokestown, Ballyleague and Elphin.

Several footpaths in these towns have been widened and, as a result, the roads have been narrowed.

Councillor Byrne says the works are designed to keep pedestrians safe - but they could have the opposite effect.
