Government ministers are expected to sign off today on the legal changes needed for the €100 electricity credit.
The scheme will see that amount cut from every domestic electricity bill issued in March, in order to help people deal with spiralling energy costs.
The law change to allow for the credit will have to be passed by the Oireachtas, but once it is, the deductions can be made automatically by energy companies and customers won't need to take any action themselves.
