Cabinteely moved five points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity League first division after dismantling Longford Town 3-1 in Bishopsgate.
Mistakes were the Town’s undoing, as they trailed 2-0 at the break, Zak O’Neill capitalising on a Mick McDonnell mistake on 19 minutes to give Cabinteely the lead.
McDonnell chested the ball down, but allowed Shane Barnes to collect it up and plays in Zak O'Neill who slotted past Lee Stacey.
On 35 minutes Pat Devlin’s side executed the perfect counter attack, Shane Barnes squaring the ball to Kieran Marty Waters who made it 2-0, 10 minutes before the break.
Joe Manley came close for Town on 67 minutes, his long range effort rattled the Cabinteely cross bar.
Three minutes later it was 3-0, Kieran Marty Waters working his way through but was haulted by Lee Stacey, from the resulting spot kick Kevin Knight made it three.
Joe Gorman pulled one back five minutes later, but the gap was too much as Cabinteely inflicted Town’s second home defeat of the season.
