There are calls for the government to provide a firm date for when a domestic violence refuge will be opened in Leitrim.
It is one of nine counties without such a facility, along with local counties Cavan, Longford, Roscommon and Sligo.
The government has committed to more refuges under its zero-tolerance strategy to tackle domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.
Ballinamore councillor Roisin Kenny is calling for a update on when Leitrim will get one.
Councillor Kenny says there is enough need for a refuge in Leitrim, which is the county with the smallest population in Ireland, at 35,000.
